Website Research

When researching what a professional and effective website would look like we decided to look to the film "Call Me By Your Name" as this had been the inspiration to us throughout the creation of our media product.

From looking as this website and others it was clear there are several features that must be included to create an effective website, these were:
- A menu bar
- A summary
- The trailer
- Gallery
- Locations the film can be viewed at
- Cast description
- Social Media Links
- Awards

When looking at the "Call Me By Your Name" trailer we found that it begins by showing the full trailer to the audience. This is very effective as it straight away advertises the actual product and draws people in. This means when they then reach the website they will want to find out more, such as where to view it, which is the point of having a website - advertisement. I think that this is a very effective feature that we will include in our own film website. It was clear straight away that the colour scheme and fonts matched the poster and trailer which helps to link all of the ancillary texts which is an effective way of helping the audience to see how they are all connected and makes them easily recognizable. I believe this is important to include in our trailer too. Throughout the website it is very easy to gauge the genre of the film which is useful as it allows the target audience to realize that this is the film for them. Also by using the logos of awards they have won throughout shows people that this is a film worth seeing. Overall, I think this is a very effective website that we will use as an inspiration for our own media text.
