Poster Research

Call Me By Your Name
When looking for inspiration for our poster we once again looked to "Call Me By Your Name". The poster clearly shows the genre to the audience as it features the two main couples in a close and romantic position and setting. This allows the target audience to know that this is the sort of film for them. It features the same colour scheme and font as the rest of the ancillary products which helps to once again link them together and make them easily recognizable which is a good form of advertising. It features the names of the actors, the title, director and some reviews from critics which are all important aspects that we should include in our poster. The reviews are especially good advertising as they show people that this is a film worth watching. Overall, this is an effective poster that we should take inspiration from as we have throughout the creation of our media product.

Trainspotting
I also decided to look at a social realism based film's poster as well to see if we should take inspiration from this side of our genre. This poster clearly shows the five main characters, listing their names to help make them recognizable with the trailer and to the audience. It once again has the same colour scheme and font as its other ancillary texts which is effective in making it recognizable. Especially the bright orange colour that makes it stand out so much to audiences, this is something to take inspiration from which we have done with the use of the colour red throughout our piece. This poster features the name, credits and age rating as a normal poster does but it doesn't have any reviews. I think this fits with the social realism genre but isn't something we should follow as reviews are an effective way to attract the target audience.
